Dear Clean Speech Champions,
In just 10 days, Clean Speech Colorado will launch our 5th education and awareness campaign of Jewish mindful speech.
We discussed whether now is the right time, considering that the Jewish People are at war defending ourselves from the worst terrorist attack in many decades.
It’s definitely the right time, for 3 main reasons:
- The Jewish People need to be strongly united now more than ever. This community campaign includes over 70 Jewish organizations and their constituencies, making it the biggest unifying effort of its kind.
- The words we say matter now more than ever, in the eyes of the world turned pointedly at us right now, and also to lock in the beautiful solidarity and love Jews are feeling and showing each other in Israel, here in Colorado and around the world.
- The world has just seen a shocking display of total disregard for human life. We need to remind ourselves how very precious a human being is, and how careful we have to be to honor them with every word we say.
That’s the topic of this year’s campaign – kavod habrios, how to speak with dignity, respect and honor. Words of Greatness.
