The next excitement on the calendar is Shavuos, the holiday celebrating G-d's gifting us the Torah on Mt. Sinai. Besides the traditional cheescake and blintzes, we celebrate by demonstrating our love and appreciation of the great gift of Torah by staying up late (all night) and learning Torah until sunrise services.
Shavuos is celebrated on the 6th and 7th of Sivan, this year starting on Saturday night, May 26th and going through Monday evening. The staying-up-all-night is done on Saturday night.
This Shabbos we read parshas Behar and Bechukosai, the final two parshios of the Book of Vayikra (Leviticus).
Rosh Chodesh Sivan is Monday night and Tuesday of next week.
